White Lion for St George.

Today is St George's Day and the "White Lion" is decorated with flags in celebration.

Rowbotham Street 2009

This is Rowbotham Street as it looked sometime last year.

The houses near the top of Rowbotham Street at its junction with Stockport Road were demolished some years ago as you can see on Hyde Daily Photo.

Train at Godley East

The train on the electrified line from Glossop to Manchester Piccadilly has just passed the former Godley Junction (aka Godley East) station.

It is passing over the Station Road arch and slowing down in order to stop at Godley station which is just to the left off picture.

Gower Hey Woods: A View Through the Trees

When I took the path from Osborne Road into Gower Hey Woods last summer, there was nothing but greenery to be seen over the moss-encrusted wall.

Spring is late, the trees are still leafless and the undergrowth has yet to emerge, leaving a clear view across to the steps leading up towards the Trans Pennine Trail.
