This pylon (or tower as they are called in the electricity transmission industry) forms part of an electrical bridge over Ashworth Lane crossing the site earmarked for a new Tesco superstore at Hattersley before marching on towards Harrop Edge.
A source I'm unable to name told me that this transmission line was due for renewal in 2011 and opined that if a supermarket was to built here then the route would need to be realigned.
A wider view of the bottom of the pylon and its neighbours can be seen on Hyde Daily Photo.

I think this is the most interesting bridge yet!
ReplyDeleteHaha, love it.
ReplyDeleteI like this simple industrial look. Would never have thought of it as a bridge!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! This is really something having TWO electrical bridges on one Sunday. I just love both posts. Great perspective in this one.
ReplyDeleteIt´s very interesting indeed :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday
