I was at Oaklands Masonic Hall yesterday following the funeral of my friend Doug Grieve.
This view shows the front entrance.
In my post of
24th October 2012 I gave details of its history and reported that Oaklands Hall was built in 1838 as a residence for local business men and was once occupied by
Daniel Adamson – an engineer, involved with the digging and opening of the Manchester Ship Canal.
This is the side view of Oaklands Hall. A new conservatory is presently being built on the other side of the hall which is now run by
Oaklands Masonic Club.
My brief tribute to Doug Grieve is on
Hyde Daily Photo.
