Kerry Way now open

A recently opened new road off Mottram Road is Kerry Way.

It leads to the Kerry Foods factory, still referred to locally as Walls.

Previously HGVs had to negotiate the narrow Godley Hill Road past the houses in the background to access the factory.

See how the site looked in March 2013.

See another view of the road on Hyde Daily Photo.

A contribution to ABC Wednesday.

  1. Traffic is getting heavier and heavier, and the roads are busier and busier here in my country too.

    Have a great week.

  2. Anyone know if Pedestrians are allowed all way up. I am awaiting reply from Tameside Council. No signs to say Private or no access, especially after the gate across road.

    1. There is a pavement so I understand it is a public road - not sure about the section beyond the factory as it is possibly still a building site.

  3. Thanks Gerald, the road has a gate across now at car pk, local farmer told me its council property beyond, but there is a well marked out road & pavement on left, & we cant use?? waiting for council to reply. I think they are wrong I think gate is to stop traffic.I take a group of runners up cos its quiet & well lit. Cheers.

    1. I presume you mean this which I photographed in September http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4180769 - if they are busy building down there I imagine it will be closed until the work is complete.

  4. Re Kerry Way, pedestrian access, at gate across road next to Kerrys Food car pk, sometimes its locked & sometimes open, if locked no way through other than climb under or over. There is no signs saying private or no access. I just want to know my rights of way without getting into bother. Thanks
