A Blue Enigma
In a post here back in April 2014 I showed you photographs of the Church Inn from 1902 when people were celebrating the coronation of Edward VII; then how it looked in 2006 when England were playing in the World Cup; later in the year after it changed its name to Tyler's; boarded up in 2007; re-opened in 2008 under the name Route 66; closed again in 2009; having its insides gutted in 2014.
More recently has been covered in scaffolding as work has been in progress at the building. The scaffolding has been removed and blue shutters are covering the windows and new doors that have been fitted. A new blue sign has been erected and someone is decorating the upstairs. I don't yet know what it is going to re-open as but it will be intersting to find out no doubt.
Something is also happening to half of the former Nawabi Balti (originally the Borough Arms) next door.
A contribution to Blue Monday.
