What does point seven of a penny mean?

A cold but sunny morning outside Morrisons supermarket on Mottram Road.

Just before Christmas the price of petrol here had dropped to under a pound per litre. Today it has risen to 100.7 ppl and diesel, which for a long time has been dearer than petrol, is the same price. Autogas remains unchanged at 49.9 ppl.

Prices have always been rounded down to something point nine pence to make them appear marginally cheaper but I don't recall point seven being used before.

They'll probably all change again anyway after the Budget.

A contribution to Our World Tuesday.

  2. The lowest I'd seen it here in recent months was 69 point whatever cents a litre.

  3. Nice perspective on the image, as for gas prices it always nice when they fall.
