Hattersley Boundary Stone
This boundary stone lies by the side of the A560 as one enters Hattersley from Stockport. I'm not sure how long the stone has been there nor have I been able to discover the provenance of the heraldry.
It appears to be the Coat of Arms for Longdendale, Gerald, based on the family arms of the Hollingworth family of Hollingworth Old Hall. Have a look at the Longdendale page on the Tameside MBC website.
At leadt you know where you are in a very decorative way.
