Corner of Norfolk Street & Reynold Street
This old shop at the corner of Norfolk Street and Reynold Street is now an extension of the Tameside Animal Shelter charity shop.
There are two diamond-shaped signs with the letters "H" and "V" respectively in white on blue on the side of the building.
See the close-ups on Hyde Daily Photo.
The only other instance of a similar sign I've come across is a "V" sign on the former Gee Cross Post Office.
I can only think that they refer to "hydrant" and "valve" for the benefit of the fire service, but I can find no information anywhere about signs with this particular design.
A contribution to signs, signs.

in spite of the H and V, it might be hard to find this hydrant and valve!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the H and V until you pointed them out!
