The Weekend in Black & White: Minerva
On the top of Hyde Library is a statue of Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom and sponsor of the arts, trade, and strategy, holding a book.
Her survival is in jeopardy from a local council that wants to move library services into the Town Hall and then sell the building. Read more about this on our post in January 2014.
