This cul-de-sac off Manchester Road is Hall Street. According to one of my twitter followers this was once known as Scholes Street. Now it leads to a private detached property. I imagine originally it would have been lined on both sides by terraced houses.

ReplyDeleteIn the U.S., it's usually the opposite. Big property with one house would be bought, torn down, and a bunch of condos or single-houses, or both, would go up, removing all traces of once-upon-a-time greenery.
