Funfair at Ewen Fields
Fancy a ride on the Runaway Train? Get yourself a child under 3 or one shorter than the height on the sign and you'll be able to accompany them. Do read all the safety notices first.
The funfair last weekend was on the car park at Ewen Fields, home of Hyde United Football Club. Originally Hyde F.C., founded in 1885, it became Hyde United in 1919. Following a cash injection from Manchester City it changed from red to blue and back to being Hyde F.C. in 2010. Now it is again Hyde United and owned by its supporters.
A brief history of the club is on Old Hyde. Current information about the club can be found on the official Hyde United web site or on their Facebook page.

What fun time you must have had at the fair.
ReplyDeleteMy SIGNS, SIGNS
I remember midways like this in the two towns near where I grew up. One would be around during the Victoria Day weekend in May, the other during the Fall Fair in late September.
