Rooks (?) atop the Town Hall
On the very top of the cupola of Hyde Town Hall is a spike to which a lightning conductor is attached. It is also used by rooks as a temporary perch.
As soon as this one rook flew off two more came and perched there. I think they may have been pausing to get a closer view of the tattered flag flying from the flagpole.
It has been suggested that these are jackdaws rather than rooks but I am not fully convinced.
