Civic slush

(Click on image to view full-size version)

A blanket of snow had fallen overnight and though the roads were gritted and passable, the pavements in town were icy and treacherous underfoot. Hyde market ground (or Civic Square as it is now called) was especially tricky to negotiate on foot.

It was ten past ten by the Town Hall clock. The baked potato stall was already open but the mobile burger bar had yet to set up.

About an hour later the sun came out and began to melt the snow as you can see on Hyde Daily Photo.

By Sunday afternoon - What a difference a day makes.

    1. The fairground is usually now found on ground opposite Hyde Park. All that slush and snow in this picture has gone completely overnight.
