Garside Street on New Year's Day
A week ago on Christmas Day, Garside Street was thick with ice on top of snow creating frozen slush.
See the slush on Hyde Daily Photograph or the full picture on Geograph.
The snow at Christmas had thawed and only a few patches of compacted ice remained, but a sharp frost followed by fresh snow on New Year's morning led to a return of icy conditions.
Edit 12:30 pm, Jan 2nd. Snow started falling just before 9am and is still falling so it is white-out again now.
