This postbox outside the Curiosity Shop on Commercial Street has a "G R" royal cipher dating it to the reign of George V. It is possibly the oldest mailbox in Hyde. The plate indicates that the last collection made from the box is at 5.45 pm which is only 15 minutes before the last collection at Hamnett Street sorting office which is at least 5 minutes away in a car and probably 20 minutes on foot. Last collection on Saturdays is at 11 am.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI posted the postbox like this accidentally this time. I was surprised that they resemble. I have been thinking the post box is only in Japan.
