Flowery Field Children's Chapel

As a follow-up to my earler posts of 22nd November 2015 and 6th December 2015 here are some more photographs taken at the Heritage Open Day in September.

The Children's chapel is a converted transept inside Flowery Field Church. It contains an altar, prayer desks, table, chairs and books for the use of children. . On the right is a roll of honour for the Rose Queens and the entrance to vestry and church office.

To the left is a stained glass window dedicated to the memory of the Rev. John S Burgess whose ashes are interred behind a memorial plaque above the Altar alongside those of the Rev. William Hill Wareing.

The captions under the panels read:

SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF
THE REVEREND J.S.BURGESS
MINISTER OF THIS CHURCH
1909 TO 1948

^^^

SUFFER THE LITTLE CHILDREN TO
COME UNTO ME AND FORBID
THEM NOT: FOR OF SUCH IS THE
KINGDOM OF GOD.

  3. What a beautiful chapel. The stained glass is so special. I would love to just go in and sit looking all about me. It is certainly a lovely place to have your ashes interred.
