A new look at Hyde Central station

Back in October 2014 I posted a photograph of the start of the Improvements at Hyde Central station.

As can be seen the platform was been give a makeover but there is still only a small shelter and a few seats for waiting passengers. It still doesn't have the benefit of electronic timetable information screens.

The platform improvements have only been applied to the northern section of Platform 1. The bottom end of the platform has been left unimproved and is fenced off.

The car park at the side of platform 2 was used as storage during the improvement work - see the post here from October 2014. Now at has been resurfaced and lined-out.

  1. improvements and construction projects seem to take forever, don't they?

  2. Things are a mess at Coventry Station right now. Nice for you that you can see some improvements in Hyde.

  3. Looks like it's coming along though.

  4. It's nice to see they have improved the area. Maybe a larger shelter is in future plans.

  5. The platform seems awful long for that small amount of shelter.

  6. Our whole town was in a mess this summer as they were changing all the got paths that doi NOT. Need changing!

  7. Any improvement is an improvement they say, but I do hope the trains run on time in bad weather - it looks very unsheltered.

  8. oh my...improvements do take a bit of time.Have a great weekend!

  9. The improvement definitely are very nice.
Hope the rest of the platforms/station are also improved soon.
    Nice report and snaps!
    Have a Beautiful Day!
    Peace :)

  10. The new look statrion still has an appealing country feel about it. Too many electronic gadgets can be a bit negative for atmosphere.

  11. That long view of the tracks leads me right into the distance, making me want to travel!
