A new look at Hyde Central station

Back in October 2014 I posted a photograph of the start of the Improvements at Hyde Central station.

As can be seen the platform was been give a makeover but there is still only a small shelter and a few seats for waiting passengers. It still doesn't have the benefit of electronic timetable information screens.

The platform improvements have only been applied to the northern section of Platform 1. The bottom end of the platform has been left unimproved and is fenced off.

The car park at the side of platform 2 was used as storage during the improvement work - see the post here from October 2014. Now at has been resurfaced and lined-out.

  4. It's nice to see they have improved the area. Maybe a larger shelter is in future plans.

  10. The new look statrion still has an appealing country feel about it. Too many electronic gadgets can be a bit negative for atmosphere.
